ProFiL®Cartridge for SE 7 and SE 8 by Replacing or Rework of the Thrust-Bearing Housing

The advantages of the ProFiL®Cartridge like

  • maintenance-free operation
  • avoiding of oil leakages and emission of oil mist within the SpinBox, therefore substantial increase of cleaning intervals, which can at least be doubled
  • definitely reduced cleaning costs
  • no blockage of rotors due to oil-contaminated fly with consequential damages
  • no oil changes at the thrust bearing
  • clean feed roller drives providing constant driving torques

ensure a short payback period of the conversion, in particular if the thrust-bearing housings can be reworked.

The heart of the partial modernization package for SE 7 and SE 8 SpinBoxes is a new rotor bearing equipped with the ProFiL®Cartridge. This device avoids the disadvantages of the oil-lubricated thrust ball bearing and is maintenance-free throughout its service life.

A complete replacement of the thrust-bearing housing is not imperative. The existing housing can be reworked.

The new or the reworked bearing housing with its special setting screw can be easily fitted and installed without additional adjustments at the brake linkage device. Only rotors with ceramic pin ensure the function of the ProFiL®Cartridge.

The package comprises the following components:

  • ProFiL®Cartridge
  • new or reworked bearing housing
  • special setting screw

Wear parts like new brake blocks, connecting ring and connecting piece can be easily replaced during conversion.

Depending on the rotor speed, the ProFiL®Cartridge will have an approximate service life of 1.5 to 4 years, which is in accordance with SUESSEN TwinDiscs. The ProFiL®Cartridge is replaced together with the TwinDisc. Oil changes or replacement of seals at the thrust bearing are no longer required.
