Speech of Mr. Peter Stahlecker, Managing Director of Spindelfabrik Suessen GmbH, on occasion of the celebration "1,000,000 EliTe®Spindles" during ITMA Asia Singapore (October 19, 2005)
Ladies and Gentlemen,
On behalf of Spindelfabrik Suessen GmbH, it is my sincere pleasure to welcome all of you to our celebration. I also want to welcome Mr. Strasser, Head of TCC, Mr. Gnägi, Head of Rieter - Textile Division, and Mr. Reuter, CEO of Rieter.
We are celebrating the installation of the 1,000,000th EliTe®Compact Spindle. Actually, it was installed in early August, and is producing happily, probably not knowing, how special it is!
You will remember ITMA Asia 2005 as the "Compact Yarn ITMA". A good number of suppliers displayed their versions of compact spinning, but apparently, some turned out more successful than others.
As the luck of the draw would have it, this special spindle goes to EJAZ Spinning in Lahore, Pakistan. Ejaz Spinning has been a very major customer to SUESSEN, they now have about 25,000 spindles, both EliTe®CompactSet and also EliTwist®. They also have a few thousand spindles of EliCoreTwist®, that is the combination of EliTwist® and Lycra-Core.
All of you have heard about the terrible earthquake that hit Pakistan recently!
Mr. Gohar Ejaz called us late last night, and offered his apologies for being unable to attend the celebration. He strongly feels, that helping others when they are in need is his civic duty, and consequently, he has been heavily involved in the rescue and fund raising efforts.
He requested Mr. Javed Iqbal, Chairman of Mayfair Spinning mills, to accept the trophy on his behalf. Mr Iqbal graciously accepted, and he will accept this really also on behalf of all our customers, without whose help and support, whose belief in SUESSEN during the early days with their problems did not fail, whose advice was invaluable; without you, this celebration could never have been accomplished.
I now request Mr. Erich Casanova, Managing Director of SUESSEN to present the trophy to Mr. Iqbal.
